Legendary actress Sridevi was awarded the Best Actor (Female) award for her engaging performance in the thriller ‘Mom’.
The Best Action Director award went to Abbas Ali Moghul for ‘Baahubali 2-The Conclusion’. The film also won the Best Popular Film award.

Veteran actor Vinod Khanna received the ‘Dada Saheb Phalke Award’. The announcements were made by Shekhar Kapur, of ‘Mr India’ & ‘Bandit Queen’ fame, who was the convening chairman of the central panel for this year’s awards.

It also won the award for the “Best Malayalam Movie.” The Special Jury Mention National Film Award went to Malayalam movie ‘Take off’ and its actress Parvathy.

The movie captures the despair of Malayali nurses who work outside India and were abducted by the ISIS. The narrative journeys into their struggles as nurses and the socio-cultural biases that they have to tackle in their personal and professional lives as Keralites.
